Remarkable realisation
One advantage of the reMarkable tablet with its Connect function that I had not yet realized (synchronization via “cloud” and web interfaces/desktop apps): Although the device is physically located in the office, I can access my handwritten notes from there from home. It all makes sense if you understand the principle of “cloud sync”, but I've only just realized it.
Of course, I also see the political aspect of such synchronization, especially with US services. But firstly, reMarkable is Norwegian (so not EU, but literally “close”), secondly, I have a certain weak-ish encryption of my notes in the form of my illegible handwriting ;)
And yes, I can also do it all analog with a notebook that I simply take with me from A to B (and I do just that all the time). The realization was just that I've been able to do all this non-physically for ages, and I've only just figured it out.
I've become much more accustomed to “thinking by hand” since the start of the Corona pandemic, so this is another welcome relief.
One reason for my late arrival may be that I don't pay for remarkable Connect because I was probably an early adopter of the tablet and therefore hardly looked at the service 🤷♂️
